The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Yard Supervisor to oversee daily yard operations, manage site workflow, and lead our yard hands and delivery support staff in Fyshwick.

In this key operational role, you will coordinate inward and outward goods, maintain tight inventory control, and ensure trade site deliveries are staged and dispatched on schedule. You will act as the operational link between our customer service desk, yard hands, and transport drivers, ensuring our builder members receive accurate, timely orders every time.

You will report to the Operations Manager and take ownership of workplace health and safety (WHS), quality control, and yard efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily yard operations, stock staging, loading, and unloading activities.

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise yard hands and forklift operators to maintain high productivity and morale.

  • Coordinate dispatch schedules and order picking with transport drivers to ensure on-time site deliveries.

  • Manage stock control, receiving procedures, timber grading/inspection, and stock count accuracy.

  • Enforce strict Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) compliance, load restraint standards, and traffic management protocols.

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe trade yard and warehouse environment.


What You’ll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience in a yard supervisor, warehouse leading hand, or logistics team leader role.

  • Strong knowledge of building materials, timber, structural supplies, and trade hardware products.

  • Valid High-Risk Forklift Licence (LF) with extensive operation experience.

  • Strong understanding of WHS standards, chain of responsibility (CoR), and safe load restraint.

  • Computer literacy and experience working with inventory management systems.

  • Heavy Vehicle (MR/HR) licence or HIAB experience (highly regarded).
