Building a community of builders in the Canberra region

Builders Trading Cooperative was established over 50 years ago in 1966 by a group of Canberra builders. It was a way to pool resources and improve bulk-buying power for the building and hardware products that are used every day in the industry. Their unique model has created not just an excellent shopfront for a huge range of building materials, but also a thriving community of builders who hold shares in the Cooperative and have a say in its function and development.

Shareholders benefit from rebates and dividends every year, sharing in the Cooperative’s profits. Builders Trading Cooperative is the only builder’s supplier in the Canberra region that pays profits back to members.
